This page compares DJI's published specs for the two drones. Flight time, speed and range are manufacturer maximums measured in controlled conditions, so expect less in wind and cold.

The Mini 3 Pro has the bigger sensor and the better vertical video

The Mini 3 Pro uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor; the Lito 1 uses a 1/2-inch sensor. Both shoot 48 MP stills with DNG RAW and record 4K up to 60fps, but megapixels alone say little about dynamic range or low light, and the larger sensor is the safer bet there on paper.

For portrait video, the Mini 3 Pro physically rotates its camera for True Vertical Shooting. The Lito 1 records a dedicated 2.7K vertical format at up to 60fps instead. The Mini 3 Pro also offers HDR video at 24/25/30fps and D-Cinelike. The Lito 1 lists neither, though its H.265 Normal mode can record 10-bit 4:2:0.

The Lito 1 keeps 4K for slow motion

The Lito 1 records 4K at 100fps. The Mini 3 Pro reaches 120fps only in Full HD. If you shoot action and want slow motion without dropping resolution, that one spec favors the Lito 1.

Sensing: six directions against three

The Lito 1 uses omnidirectional monocular vision with downward infrared support, covering forward, backward, left, right, up and down. The Mini 3 Pro senses forward, backward and downward only. More coverage reduces workload during tracking and return-to-home, but no system makes a drone collision-proof: thin wires, reflective surfaces, low light and textureless walls stay difficult.

Both track subjects. DJI lists ActiveTrack among the Lito 1's main features, and the Mini 3 Pro has FocusTrack, which includes ActiveTrack alongside other subject modes.

Batteries and weight

With standard batteries, both sit at about 249 g. The Plus battery takes the Mini 3 Pro to roughly 290 g and the Lito 1 over 249 g, which can change registration and operating rules where you live (see rules by weight). DJI also states the Lito 1's Plus battery is not supported in the EU or UK, so European buyers should count on the 36-minute standard pack.

Neither drone has internal storage, so budget for a microSD card. Neither is waterproof: DJI explicitly says the Lito 1 is not, and the Mini 3 Pro has no official IP rating.

DJI Lito 1

Strengths

  • Omnidirectional obstacle sensing
  • ActiveTrack subject following
  • Rated for 36 minutes standard and 52 minutes Plus
  • 4K/100fps slow motion
  • 18 m/s Sport mode
  • O4 transmission and 10-bit H.265 Normal recording

Drawbacks

  • 1/2-inch sensor, smaller than the Mini 3 Pro's
  • No mechanically rotated vertical shooting; vertical is a 2.7K format
  • No D-Cinelike and no listed HDR video mode
  • Plus battery pushes it over 249 g and is not supported in the EU or UK
  • No internal storage

DJI Mini 3 Pro

Strengths

  • Larger 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/1.7 lens
  • True Vertical Shooting rotates the camera
  • HDR video at 24/25/30fps and D-Cinelike
  • 150 Mbps maximum bitrate against 130 Mbps
  • FocusTrack, MasterShots and QuickShots
  • Smaller folded body

Drawbacks

  • No side or upward obstacle sensing
  • Shorter rated flight time on both batteries
  • 120fps slow motion only in Full HD
  • 16 m/s Sport mode and older O3 transmission
  • No internal storage

Lito 1 for flight assistance, Mini 3 Pro for the camera

For most first-time buyers, the DJI Lito 1 is the better pick: it adds omnidirectional obstacle sensing, ActiveTrack, 4K/100fps slow motion and longer rated battery life. Pick the Mini 3 Pro instead if the camera comes first, because it has the larger sensor, HDR video, D-Cinelike and True Vertical Shooting.

The Lito 1's standard battery is rated for 36 minutes against 34, and its Plus battery for 52 minutes against 47. It also reaches 18 m/s in Sport mode against 16 m/s.

The Mini 3 Pro's 1/1.3-inch sensor is larger than the Lito 1's 1/2-inch sensor. Both shoot 48 MP RAW photos and record 4K up to 60fps, so this is not a resolution contest. It is close: the Lito 1 has the more useful flight package for more buyers, while the Mini 3 Pro still wins most of the imaging comparisons.
