Editorial Team

Drone Ranker is an independent drone publication owned, written and edited by one person. This page says who that is, how the work is done, what the site will and will not claim, and how to reach us. It is the masthead: if you want to know who is responsible for a page on this site, the answer is below.

Who runs Drone Ranker

Alihan Demirdaş — Founder and Editor. Alihan is a software developer based in Türkiye who founded Drone Ranker in June 2026. He researches drones the way he reads code: from the primary documents. Every review, comparison and news story on this site is built from manufacturer specification sheets, FCC and EU certification filings, aviation-authority rules and dated press releases, with the source linked. He writes every page himself, covers consumer, professional and agricultural drones, and is the editor who approves each page before it is published. You can read everything he has published on his editor profile.

Most pages are documentary: a specification-based analysis can be checked by anyone with the same documents, and that is the standard we hold ourselves to. When an aircraft is on the desk, whether bought, borrowed or supplied for evaluation, the page is labelled hands-on, names who flew it and under what conditions, and carries our own photographs and flight notes. Where a page would need flight experience to be honest and we do not have it, it says so and points to sources that do.

How a page gets made

  • Research. Specifications are taken from the manufacturer’s own spec page or manual, never from retailer listings. Regulatory claims come from the FAA, EASA, the UK CAA, Transport Canada, CASA or the relevant authority, and name the jurisdiction. Leaks and rumours are attributed to the person or outlet that published them, with the date.
  • Writing. The editor writes every page. Software, including AI-based research tools, helps him organise specification tables, cross-check figures and keep sources tidy, the way an analyst uses a spreadsheet; it is never a source and never does the writing. Our Editorial Policy sets this out in full.
  • Verification. Before publication the editor checks each number against its source, separates what is confirmed from what is unconfirmed, and removes any claim that cannot be traced to a document. Comparison pages show a verification date and list their primary sources.
  • Updates. News pages carry a dated update note when something material changes. Evergreen pages (the drone finder, the registration checker, the US availability checker, the release tracker) are revised whenever the underlying facts move, with the date shown on the page.

What we will not do

  • Describe a specification-based analysis as a hands-on test, or imply a product was bought, flown or handled when it was not.
  • Publish a release date, price or specification as fact when it is a rumour. Unconfirmed information is labelled unconfirmed.
  • Let an affiliate relationship decide a score, a declared winner or the order of a recommendation.
  • Accept payment for a review or a ranking. We have never done so and do not offer it.

Drone Ranker is funded by affiliate commissions and, where shown, display advertising. Some links on this site go to Amazon and other retailers; if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, Drone Ranker earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate links are marked as sponsored, buy buttons carry a disclosure, and the full policy is in our Affiliate Disclosure. Advertising does not influence editorial decisions, and advertisers have no access to content before publication.

Corrections

Manufacturers, distributors and retailers who would like a product evaluated hands-on can use the contact form and choose “Product Evaluation / Review Unit”. Evaluation units are disclosed on the page, returned on request, and never buy a verdict.

If you find an error, we want to know. Send the page URL, the claim you dispute and a primary source through the contact form. Factual corrections are made on the page itself with a dated note; we do not quietly edit. Typical response time is two to three business days.
