DJI Release Tracker 2026: Every Upcoming DJI Drone, Ranked by Evidence
DJI does not pre-announce drones. What it leaves behind is a trail: prototype photos, radio certifications, registry entries, retail boxes. This DJI release tracker lists every upcoming DJI drone we are following and ranks it by how far along that trail it has got, from rumour to announcement. Tap a drone to see the dated evidence and our coverage, and check the “last reviewed” date: the tracker is updated whenever a model gains new evidence.

How we rank upcoming DJI drones
Every drone on the tracker sits on a five-step evidence ladder. A drone moves up only when we can point to a dated, checkable source, and the “expected” window is our reading of DJI’s past launch gaps, not a leak.
- 1. Rumour. Named by leakers or expected from DJI’s product cycle, with nothing physical shown. Most “release date confirmed” videos live here.
- 2. Prototype seen. Photos or video of hardware in testing. Useful for design, useless for dates: DJI has tested prototypes a year or more before launch.
- 3. Regulatory filing. A radio certification or registry entry, usually in China first. This is the strongest early signal, because products are filed when they are close to production.
- 4. Retail leak. Packaging, manuals or retailer listings. Launches typically follow within two to six weeks.
- 5. Announced. DJI has published a product page. The drone moves to the launched list.
Reading the signals: what each type of evidence is worth
China’s civil drone registry (UOM)
Every drone sold in China has to be entered in the CAAC’s unmanned aircraft registry with a model code, a take-off weight and, often, a production date. It is the single most reliable pre-launch source, because the fields are filled in by DJI itself. The Neo 3 (DEN326, 192.7 g, produced 21 September 2026) and the Matrice 5TD (M5TD) both surfaced this way. We explain how to read a registry line in our Neo 3 weight analysis.
CMIIT radio certification
China’s radio approval names a model code and little else. It confirms a device exists and is close to sale in China, but not what it is: the N610BS certification in July 2026 was widely reported as the Air 4, and that link has never been confirmed. We list such codes separately until a second source ties them to a product.
FCC filings
Before December 2025, an FCC ID was the clearest launch signal for the US market. Since DJI was added to the Covered List on 22 December 2025, new DJI aircraft cannot be authorized, so the absence of an FCC filing no longer tells you anything about timing. It does tell you the drone will not be sold in the US; see which drones are banned in the US.
Retail packaging and feature panels
Box leaks usually come from distributors and reviewers a few weeks before launch. They confirm bundle contents and marketing claims, which is how we learned the Neo 3 ships with the RC Mini controller and lists a 1/1.1-inch square sensor. They do not carry numbers such as flight time or price. Box renders can also be altered, so we weight the printed text more than the artwork.
DJI’s launch cadence, and what it says about 2027
The expected windows on the tracker come from the gaps DJI has left between generations. They are not promises, but they are more reliable than any single rumour.
| Line | Recent launches | Typical gap | What it implies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neo | Neo Sept 2024, Neo 2 Nov 2025 | 14 months | Neo 3 in late 2026 fits the pattern, and the evidence agrees |
| Mini Pro | Mini 3 Pro May 2022, Mini 4 Pro Sept 2023, Mini 5 Pro Sept 2025 | 16–24 months | Mini 6 Pro in 2027 is more likely than late 2026 |
| Air | Air 3 Jul 2023, Air 3S Oct 2024 | 15 months, then a longer wait | Air 4 is overdue by the old rhythm; leaks suggest it is real but unhurried |
| Avata | Avata 2 Apr 2024, Avata 360 Mar 2026 | ~23 months | An Avata 3 soon after the Avata 360 would break the pattern |
| Matrice (enterprise) | Matrice 4 series Jan 2025, Matrice 400 May 2025 | Irregular | The 5TD filing suggests a 2027 refresh of the dock drone |
Why every drone here says “No US authorization”
None of the drones on this tracker had an FCC authorization before the 22 December 2025 cut-off, so under current rules none can be sold through normal US channels, whatever DJI announces. That changes only if the FCC acts or the Covered List entry is lifted. Drones authorized earlier are a different story; check any model in our US drone ban checker, and see will the Air 4 and Mini 6 Pro be sold in the US for the two most-asked cases.
Which DJI drone is coming next?
The DJI Neo 3. It is the only drone at stage 4, with retail packaging, a China registry entry dated 21 September 2026 and a box panel listing its camera. We expect an announcement in October or November 2026, China first. Our Neo 3 specs breakdown covers what is known and our Neo 3 price guide estimates what it will cost. The Mini 6 Pro, which most readers ask about, is at the bottom of the ladder: there is still no filing or prototype, and DJI’s gap between Mini Pro models points to 2027.
Should you wait, or buy now?
Wait if you want a selfie drone and you are outside the US: the Neo 3 is weeks away and the Neo 2 will get cheaper. Buy now if you want a Mini or an Air: nothing is close, and the current models are discounted. If you are in the US, nothing on this tracker will be sold to you officially, so the question is only which already-authorized model fits; our drone finder narrows that down in five questions.
Frequently asked questions
What DJI drones are coming out in 2026?
The DJI Neo 3 is the most likely remaining 2026 launch, with an October or November window. The Air 4 is possible in late 2026 but could slip into 2027. The Matrice 5TD has a China registry entry but no clear date.
When is the DJI Mini 6 Pro coming out?
There is no filing, packaging or prototype yet. Based on DJI’s gaps between Mini Pro models and the Mini 5 Pro’s September 2025 launch, 2027 is more likely than 2026.
When is the DJI Air 4 release date?
DJI has not announced one. Leaked documents point to an Air 4 in development, but conflicting spec leaks and no confirmed filing put it in late 2026 at the earliest.
Is the N610BS the DJI Air 4?
Not confirmed. N610BS is a DJI model code that passed China’s CMIIT radio certification in July 2026. It was reported as the Air 4, but nothing has tied the code to that product.
Will new DJI drones be sold in the US?
Not through normal channels while DJI is on the FCC Covered List. New DJI aircraft cannot receive FCC authorization, and every drone on this tracker lacks one.
How reliable are DJI leaks?
Registry entries and certifications are reliable because DJI files them itself. Packaging is usually accurate on contents and claims. Spec sheets and dates from unnamed sources are the least reliable, which is why the tracker ranks evidence rather than repeating it.
How often is the tracker updated?
Whenever a tracked drone gains new evidence. The date at the top of the tracker shows the last review, and recent changes are listed below it.
