DJI Air 4 Reportedly Appears in Chinese Certification Database

Update, 2 October 2026: the certificate reported in July was issued to a DJI device coded N610BS, and its identity has not been confirmed. Nothing since has tied N610BS to the Air 4, and no Air 4-specific certification has surfaced as of 2 October. Read this page as a report of a possible link, not a confirmed Air 4 filing. Our Air 4 tracker has the latest status.

The unannounced DJI Air 4 has reportedly appeared in a Chinese certification database. The listing, as reported, says nothing about the camera, battery, weight, transmission system or price. What counts is that an entry exists at all.

It follows an earlier sighting of the Air 4 name in a Chinese drone flight-reporting app. Together the two point to DJI preparing a successor to the Air 3S, though neither confirms specs, price or a launch date. DJI has not announced the Air 4, and as of July 30, 2026 it is not in DJI’s public consumer lineup.

What a certification entry does and doesn’t tell you

How the certification story has held up.

Certification filings often show up during product development, but they do not guarantee a launch soon. Products get delayed, revised, released only in some regions, or stay in development after a first database appearance. Treat this as a sign of progress, not as the Air 4 being ready for stores.

The earlier flight-app sighting

In May 2026 the Air 4 name reportedly appeared in a Chinese flight-filing application, in the list pilots use to pick their aircraft before submitting flight information. It sat alongside existing models including the DJI Air 3S, Air 3, Air 2S and Mavic Air.

That carried more weight than an anonymous spec list or a concept render, because the name was inside working flight-compliance software. It still said nothing about timing or hardware.

The rumored upgrades

Rumors online attach several upgrades to the Air 4: a redesigned, more aerodynamic airframe, better obstacle sensing, better low-light camera performance, longer battery life and updated transmission hardware. DJI has confirmed none of them, and the reported certification entry discloses none of them.

Be especially wary of claims about dual 1-inch cameras, a sub-250 g version, a specific flight time or a set price. No public DJI spec sheet backs any of them.

Where it would fit

The Air series sits between the lightweight Mini models and the larger Mavic. The current Air 3S weighs 724 grams and pairs a 50 MP 1-inch wide camera with a 48 MP 1/1.3-inch medium telephoto. DJI lists up to 45 minutes of flight, O4 transmission, omnidirectional vision sensing and forward LiDAR.

That leaves the Air 4 a hard job. It would need to improve image quality, flight performance, sensing or portability without creeping toward Mavic size and price. Whether DJI plans a straight replacement or a bigger redesign is unknown.

When could it launch?

The listing has fed talk of a 2026 launch, but there is no official window. The two sightings suggest the project is further along than ordinary prototype rumors, not which month it ships. Until DJI posts a teaser, a product page, a filing with identifiable hardware details or an announcement, any exact release date is speculation.

The Air 4 looks like a real product in development rather than a fan wishlist, but nothing here is worth delaying a purchase over. With no spec sheet and no date, an Air 3S buyer today is not missing anything confirmed. We will update the DJI Air 4 rumor tracker when credible filings, images, specs or an official announcement appear.
