The extra cameras are the whole difference

Both drones shoot 5.1K/50fps from the same 4/3 Hasselblad sensor. The Pro adds a 1/1.3-inch medium tele camera at 70 mm equivalent and a 1/2-inch tele at 166 mm with an improved aperture. If you shoot buildings, wildlife, events or anything you cannot get close to, those lenses change what you can frame. If you mostly shoot wide scenery, they mostly add weight and cost.

Flight time, weight and batteries

The Classic lists 46 minutes and 895 g; the Pro 43 minutes and 958 g. Both top out at 21 m/s. The Classic is also slightly more compact folded, though both are portable for professional drones. They share the Mavic 3 Intelligent Flight Battery.

Do you need the Cine version?

The Mavic 3 Pro Cine adds Apple ProRes and a 1 TB internal SSD, which suits professional workflows that need higher-quality video files and faster transfer. The Classic has no ProRes option. For most buyers the standard Mavic 3 Pro is enough. If you are weighing a newer model, see Mavic 4 Pro vs Mavic 3 Pro.

DJI Mavic 3 Pro

Strengths

  • Three cameras cover wide, 70 mm and 166 mm framing
  • Same 4/3 Hasselblad main camera as the Classic
  • Optical tele shots instead of digital zoom
  • Omnidirectional obstacle sensing
  • ProRes and a 1 TB SSD available on the Cine version

Drawbacks

  • Heavier at 958 g
  • Shorter 43-minute flight time
  • Costs more

DJI Mavic 3 Classic

Strengths

  • Same 4/3 Hasselblad main camera
  • Longer 46-minute flight time and longer flight distance
  • Lighter at 895 g and more compact folded
  • Omnidirectional obstacle sensing
  • Uses the same batteries as the Mavic 3 Pro

Drawbacks

  • Single camera; zoom is digital
  • No ProRes option

Pay for the Mavic 3 Pro only if you will use the tele lenses

Buy the Mavic 3 Pro if you regularly shoot at longer focal lengths. It keeps the same 4/3 Hasselblad main camera as the Classic and adds a 70 mm medium tele and a 166 mm tele, so you get real optical framing options instead of digital zoom.

If you mostly shoot wide, the Mavic 3 Classic gives you the same main camera for less money, with a longer 46-minute flight time against 43 minutes and a lighter 895 g airframe against 958 g.

Both have omnidirectional sensing and use the same Mavic 3 Intelligent Flight Battery, so moving from one to the other keeps your spare batteries useful.
