DJI Ends Phantom 4 Pro V2 Support on 31 October: What Owners Can Still Do
DJI will stop servicing the Phantom 4 Pro V2 on 31 October 2026. After that date, DJI says it will no longer answer product inquiries, provide technical support or repair the aircraft and its accessories. The same notice ends support for the Agras T16 and T20 spray drones, the MG-1P series and the original Osmo Action on 2 November 2026.
The Phantom 4 Pro V2 left production in August 2022, but it is still common with surveyors and real-estate photographers because of its 1-inch sensor and mechanical shutter. Here is what changes, what keeps working, and what owners can do in the next three weeks.

What DJI’s notice says
DJI keeps a running list called “Notice of Suspension of Service and Support for Old Product Series” on its support site. Each product has two dates: when production stopped and when service stops. After the service date, DJI says it will no longer provide “product inquiries, technical support, or product maintenance” for the product and its accessories.
DroneDJ adds a practical warning: sending a repair request before the deadline does not guarantee DJI will finish it in time. If your Phantom needs a repair, contact DJI support now rather than in the last week of October.

We covered the earlier Mavic 2 Pro deadline in August; the same rules apply here.
What still works after 31 October
- Flying. End of service is not a shutdown. The aircraft, controller and DJI GO 4 app keep working as they do today; DJI has not announced any change to the app.
- Remote ID. DroneXL reports the Phantom 4 Pro V2 keeps broadcasting Remote ID, so it stays legal to fly in the US under the FAA’s rules.
- Third-party repair. Independent repair shops can still work on it, and used parts such as gimbal cameras remain on the market, but DJI will not.
- What DJI has not said: whether firmware updates, parts sales or DJI Care claims end on the same day. Treat all three as ending unless DJI tells you otherwise.
What Phantom 4 Pro V2 owners can do now
- Book any pending repair this week. DJI does not guarantee repairs that arrive close to the deadline.
- Buy spare batteries and propellers while stock exists. Phantom 4 batteries are no longer made; check the seller and avoid packs that will not report cell health to the drone.
- Update firmware now so the aircraft and controller are on the last release before support ends.
- Plan the replacement if the Phantom is a work tool. Mapping and inspection work that depends on a mechanical shutter needs an enterprise drone, not a consumer one.
What replaces a Phantom 4 Pro V2
No current DJI consumer drone keeps the Phantom’s body, but the camera has been overtaken. Which replacement fits depends on the job:
- Mapping and surveying (mechanical shutter): the Matrice 4E is the current DJI mapping drone with a mechanical shutter on its 4/3-inch wide camera. It is listed on Amazon US.
- Photography and video: the Air 3S pairs a 1-inch, 50 MP main camera with a 70 mm telephoto and flies up to 45 minutes. The Mavic 4 Pro goes further with a 100 MP 4/3-inch camera and two telephotos, but DJI did not launch it in the US.
- Lighter travel use: the Mini 5 Pro has a 1-inch sensor at about 249.9 g, but it is not sold officially in the US.
US buyers should check availability first: new DJI models cannot get FCC authorization after the Covered List decision of December 2025. Our DJI US availability guide lists what is still sold.

1-inch, 50 MP main camera plus 70 mm tele, up to 45 min. For photo and video work.
DJI Mavic 3 Pro (DJI RC)
4/3-inch Hasselblad camera with two telephotos, still listed in the US.

Agras T16 and T20: why the 2 November date matters more
For farmers, the Agras deadline lands at an awkward time. The FCC’s pending proposal, DA 26-758, would bar the import and marketing of foreign drones that can dispense “economic poison”, which covers spray drones such as DJI’s newer Agras models. Comments closed on 2 September and, as of 12 October, no order has been issued. Owners of T16 and T20 sprayers losing DJI service may find the newer models they would upgrade to also face restrictions. Our guide to which spray drones US farmers can still buy tracks the FCC status of each.
Frequently asked questions
When does DJI stop supporting the Phantom 4 Pro V2?
On 31 October 2026. After that, DJI says it will not provide product inquiries, technical support or repairs for the drone and its accessories.
Can I still fly my Phantom 4 Pro V2 after 31 October 2026?
Yes. End of service stops DJI support and repairs, not the drone. DroneXL reports that it keeps broadcasting Remote ID, so it remains legal to fly in the US.
Which other DJI products lose support in 2026?
The Agras T16, T20, MG-1P, MG-1P RTK, MG-1S Advanced, Agriculture Solution Packs and the original Osmo Action on 2 November 2026. Earlier in 2026: Mavic 2 Zoom, Mavic Mini, Mavic 2 Pro, Mavic 2 Enterprise, Matrice 600 Pro, Osmo Mobile 3, OM 4 and Aeroscope.
What is the best replacement for the Phantom 4 Pro V2?
For mapping with a mechanical shutter, the Matrice 4E. For photo and video, the Air 3S or the Mavic 3 Pro in the US, and the Mavic 4 Pro or Mini 5 Pro where DJI sells them.
Can I still get my Phantom 4 Pro V2 repaired?
By DJI, only until 31 October 2026, and DJI does not guarantee requests submitted close to the deadline. After that, only independent repair shops.
